MDI Murshidabad hosts 11th Annual Convocation Ceremony 2026

Murshidabad, March 22, 2026: Management Development Institute Murshidabad (MDIM) held its 11th Annual Convocation Ceremony, awarding diplomas to 113 students of the PGDM Batch 2024–26. The event marked a significant milestone for the institute, bringing together leaders from academia, industry, and governance.

The ceremony featured symbolic initiatives reflecting MDIM’s values, including a tree plantation drive at “Maa Park,” unveiling of the Indian National Flag Post, and installation of a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The Faculty Corner was also inaugurated, highlighting the institute’s academic focus.

Shri Sanjiv Kumar Singh, CMD of Hindustan Copper Limited, attended as Chief Guest. With over 37 years of experience in India’s mining sector and global exposure, he exemplified leadership aligned with MDIM’s vision.

In her welcome address, Ms. Sangeeta Talwar, Interim Chairperson, Board of Governors, emphasized that convocation marks the transition of students into responsible professionals. She encouraged graduates to uphold values of accountability, transparency, trust, inclusion, and empathy while contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K Jain, Director, presented the annual report, highlighting MDIM’s academic and institutional achievements. The institute ranked 35th in MBAUniverse Rankings 2026 (AA+), 3rd in the Eastern Zone (BW Businessworld 2025), and No. 1 in West Bengal (IIRF 2025).

Placement outcomes were strong, with participation from diverse sectors such as BFSI, IT, consulting, manufacturing, e-commerce, logistics, and real estate. The highest package reached ₹15 LPA, with a median of ₹12 LPA and an average of ₹10.93 LPA. A total of 38 new recruiters participated.

The institute also achieved key academic milestones, including the launch of its AICTE-approved Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), establishment of the Centre of Excellence on Indian Wisdom and Management, and signing of nine MoUs with reputed institutions. Revenue from Management Development Programmes rose significantly to ₹1.15 crore, with nearly 400 executives trained.

Gold medals were awarded for academic excellence. Ritesh Raj received awards for Best All-Round Performance and Supply Chain Management. Other awardees included Jyoti Roy (Marketing), Shaina Parween (Human Resources), Shayantan Chakraborti (Finance), and Arijit Banerjee (Strategy and International Business).

In his address, Shri Singh urged graduates to align their careers with national development and uphold professional excellence. The ceremony concluded with the conferring of diplomas, an oath of integrity, and the National Anthem.
