Office of Global Engagement Committee
About the Office
The Office of Global Engagement Committee at Management Development Institute, Murshidabad serves as the Institute’s interface for international engagement, academic collaboration and cross-cultural learning. The Office works towards strengthening the Institute’s engagement with universities, research institutions, industry and other organisations across the globe, while creating meaningful opportunities for students to develop a broader understanding of the international business and academic environment.
Established in 2014, MDI Murshidabad carries forward the legacy of Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, while developing its own distinctive academic identity in Eastern India. In this context, the Office of Global Engagement contributes to the Institute’s commitment to preparing responsible management professionals who are grounded in the Indian context and equipped to engage effectively with a rapidly evolving global environment.
Through its initiatives, the Office seeks to facilitate international exposure, academic exchange, institutional collaboration and intercultural learning. These efforts enable students to engage with diverse perspectives, understand different academic and professional environments, and develop the cultural awareness required to operate effectively in an interconnected world.
Student Engagement and International Exposure
A key objective of the Office is to create opportunities through which students can gain exposure beyond the conventional classroom environment. International engagement enables students to encounter different approaches to management education, business practices, leadership and problem-solving.
The Office works towards facilitating opportunities for student exchange, international academic engagement, global internships, language learning and cross-cultural interaction, wherever such opportunities are available through institutional collaborations and other initiatives.
For incoming students and international visitors, the Office also seeks to facilitate their interaction with the MDI Murshidabad community and provide opportunities to experience India’s academic, cultural and social environment.
These engagements are intended not merely to provide international exposure, but to encourage students to develop a global perspective while remaining sensitive to local contexts and cultural diversity.
Key Areas of Engagement

The Office supports the development and strengthening of relationships with international academic institutions and other relevant organisations. Such collaborations provide a foundation for academic exchange, knowledge sharing and future opportunities for students and faculty. - Student Exchange and Global Opportunities

These initiatives aim to prepare students to communicate, adapt and engage more effectively in international settings.
