MDI Murshidabad completed Management Development Program on “Driving Business Value Through Information Technology” for Executives of Canara Bank.
Management Development Institute Murshidabad, organized a 3-Day Management Development Program between 7th to 9th May 2026 for executives of Canara Bank on “Driving Business Value Through Information Technology.” There were 30 participants and all were senior professionals of the bank.
Program directors Dr. Souvik Banerjee and Dr. Bikramjit Pal conceptualized this value-added, cutting-edge MDP.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Biranchi Narayan Swar, Dean–Continuous Education, Dr. Amrita Sengupta, Chairperson–Continuous Education and Programme Directors- Dr. Souvik Banerjee and Dr. Bikramjit Pal.
The Management Development Program (MDP) focused on leveraging technology to enhance banking performance, customer experience, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. The program highlights the role of digital transformation, AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, automation, and IT governance in modern banking. Participants gained insights into aligning IT initiatives with business goals, improving productivity, managing digital risks, and driving Innovation. Through case studies and practical discussions, the program builds digital leadership capabilities and enables executives to create sustainable business value by effectively using Information Technology in banking operations.
The initiative underscores Canara Bank’s focus on people development, innovation, and customer-centric leadership, reinforcing its position as a trusted and forward-looking financial institution.
Other than that, the programme included a tour visit to Murshidabad Historical Palaces at Lalbagh, House of Jagat Seth and a cultural night for the participants.
