MDI Murshidabad commenced Management Development Programme on Business Leadership for the Executives of Canara Bank.
Management Development Institute Murshidabad (MDIM) successfully commenced a six-days Management Development Programme (MDP) on ‘Business Leadership’ for Canara Bank Executives”. The Programme is being conducted at the MDIM campus from 3rd till 8th November 2025.
The inaugural session was graced by Shri Bimal Prasad Jatav, Chief General Manager, Human Resource and Public Relation Wing, Canara Bank. The esteemed dignitary, along with the executives of Canara Bank, were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ajay K. Jain, Director, MDI Murshidabad, Dr. Pinku Paul and Dr. Paroma Mitra, Programme Directors, MDI Murshidabad. The inaugural session was also graced by Dr. Biranchi Narayan Swar, Dean–Continuous Education and Dr. Amrita Sengupta, Chairperson–Continuous Education.
The training sessions to be conducted by the distinguished faculty members of MDIM- Prof. Dr. Ajay K. Jain, Dr. Sunil Giri, Dr. Debasis Chanda, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Seal, Dr. Pinku Paul, Dr. Neeraj Singhal, Dr. Neha Jain, Dr. Souvik Banerjee, Dr. Paroma Mitra, Dr. Amrita Sengupta, and Dr. Arunava Narayan Mukherjee.
The programme is thoughtfully designed to empower Middle and Senior ranked executives to equip the business leadership skills required in the changing paradigm of the Banking industry. The program was designed to help high-potential executives develop the key competencies to become strategic and effective leaders. It encourages leaders to embrace the complex challenges and opportunities associated with greater leadership positions and unlock their full leadership potential. The programme thus focused the contemporary issues of Sustainability practices in banking sector. It helped participants understand the knowledge and skills to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into their strategic decision making, risk management, and product development. For the middle-ranked bankers, it enables the practical application of ESG principles in day-to-day operations, innovation in products and services, Improved employee engagement, enhanced Customer and client relationship, practical skills and risk assessment. For senior-ranked bankers, this fosters the leadership commitment by enhancing reputation and stakeholder trust, risk management, regulatory compliances, embed sustainability into corporate culture.
Other than that, the programme includes a tour visit to Murshidabad Historical Palaces at Lalbagh, Shakti and Shidh Peeth of Maa Kali near MDIM and Garad Silk-Khadi Cluster of Murshidabad at Mirzapur and a cultural night.
The initiative shows MDI Murshidabad’s ongoing commitment to nurturing leadership excellence and strengthening industry academia collaboration through innovative executive education programmes that align with contemporary corporate challenges.
