Global Engagement Committee – Event Highlights
The Global Engagement Committee (GEC) of MDI Murshidabad successfully organized a series of impactful sessions under its Confluence Series and Guest Lecture Initiatives, connecting students with distinguished international experts and fostering global perspectives in management education.
1st Confluence Session (27th January 2025): Dr. Akanksha Jalan (Rennes School of Business, France) delivered a session on Cryptocurrency and Sustainability, exploring the future of finance through innovation and responsibility.
2nd Confluence Session (21st February 2025): Dr. V.G. Venkatesh (EM Normandie Business School, France) spoke on Changing Paradigms of Global Supply Chain, addressing sustainability, digital transformation, and geopolitical challenges in logistics.
3rd Confluence Session (20th March 2025): Dr. Ivan Svetunkov, Senior Lecturer at Lancaster University Management School and Director of CMAF, delivered a session on the Importance of Forecasting in Decision Making. He highlighted the role of exponential smoothing and predictive analytics in driving strategic, data-driven business decisions, offering students a powerful blend of theory and practice.

Guest Lecture – Critical Thinking in Complex Decision-Making
Dr. Gyanendra S. Sisodia, Associate Professor at Ajman University, UAE, conducted an engaging session using roleplays, case studies, and corporate examples to illustrate frameworks for strategic decision-making. He equipped students with practical tools to navigate complexity in both large organizations and family-run businesses.
