Inaugural ceremony of Orientation Program for PGDM 2025-27 batch
MDI Murshidabad formally welcomed the 12th batch of its Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme (2025–2027) with the commencement of a five-day orientation programme on June 23, 2025.
The inaugural ceremony opened with a welcome address by Prof. Debasis Chanda, Dean – Academic, setting the tone for the days ahead. This was followed by the introduction of Prof. Ajay K. Jain, Director, MDI Murshidabad, whose remarks reflected the institution’s vision and commitment to shaping competent and socially conscious management professionals.
The ceremony was marked by the presence of distinguished guests. Ms. Sangeeta Talwar, Member of the Board of Governors, MDI Society, and Mrs. Ekam J Singh, IAS, Sub-Divisional Officer, Jangipur, addressed the incoming cohort with valuable perspectives drawn from their experience in leadership and public service. The session culminated with the keynote address by the Chief Guest, Shri S. Suresh Kumar, IAS, Chairman, Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), whose insights on leadership and institutional responsibility offered students a meaningful lens through which to view their academic journey.
The orientation programme is designed to introduce the new batch to the academic ethos, professional expectations, and values that define MDI Murshidabad. As the journey begins, the institution remains committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped to navigate the evolving demands of the global management landscape.
