Shri Chandradeep Kumar Jha, Deputy Director General (DDG), Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India
Shri Chandradeep Kumar Jha (ISS:2000) brings over two decades of distinguished service in various key positions within the Government of India. He holds a Master’s Degree in Statistics from the University of Delhi. Currently serving as the Deputy Director General (DDG) in the Department of Financial Services (DFS), he has a rich and diverse experience spanning several central ministries of Government of India.
Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions in the areas of data analysis, coordination, monitoring, supervision and policy formulation. His expertise covers a wide range of areas including international cooperation in statistical matters, national statistical system reforms, ease of doing business, industrial development, and the implementation of key government initiatives.
Key Areas of Expertise and Experience:
- Department of Financial Services (DFS): Spearheading coordination and data analysis efforts to enhance financial policies and systems.
- Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI): Engaged in international cooperation for statistical matters, working closely with global bodies like the UN Statistical Commission. Additionally, contributed to reforms in India’s National Statistical System and administrative/ legal matters of Indian Statistical Institute.
- Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI): Key roles in the Ease of Doing Business initiative, Business Reform Action Plan of States/ UTs and development of critical infrastructure projects like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust. He also oversaw CAPEX monitoring of major CPSUs and investment tracking for mega Central Sector Projects. He was associated with these works while in organisation of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
- Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA): Significant contributions to the Civil Registration System, Sample Registration System, and Census 2011 while working in the office of RGI and Census commissioner of India.
